Co-Pilot: Demi Nandhra & Toni Lewis

The Co-Pilots for this event were Demi Nandhra & Toni Lewis. Demi & Toni are interdisciplinary artists based in Birmingham. They make work Individually/collaboratively that is autobiographical & socially conscious; rooted in their lived experiences as WOC/Working class/neurodiverse/queer folx. As such, their work examines ‘race’, culture, intersectional feminism, identity politics & mental health, often transgressive, subversive, humourous & quietly activist. They ‘make’ for the absolute unwavering liberation of POC. Their work has been created for beds, market stalls and from manor houses with many partners including Buzzcut Festival, Fierce Festival, Arts Admin, BAC, mac, Contact Theatre, The Marlborough Theatre and The REP Bham.

“As Co-Pilots we especially advocate for and practice relaxed performances and encourage submissions from artists identifying as: working class, QTIPOC, Non-Binary, LGBTQIA, POC and/or neurodivergent”.
