About Jo Newman
Jo Newman is Co-Artistic Director of Tin Box, a Birmingham-based theatre company who collaboratively devise theatre which explores inventive uses of storytelling, visual theatre and site-specific performance. Tin Box were theatre-makers on the REP Foundry Programme 2013 and are part of the New Diorama Theatre’s emerging theatre companies scheme. Tin Box are also visiting lecturers at the University of Wolverhampton.
Jo is on the Board of Directors for Sampad South Asian Arts, Birmingham, has worked as an Assistant Director with Women & Theatre, as an Administration and Projects Assistant with Birmingham Opera Company and a Curatorial Assistant on the Open Project at mac Birmingham. She is currently working as a freelance theatre practitioner and a script reader at the Birmingham REP. She has also recently qualified as a yoga teacher, running regular classes across Birmingham.
